Apr 01,  · referencing The Host, LP, Album, ZIQLP At first I thought that The Host was going to be another mysterious artist hiding behind an anonymous moniker to generate curiosity and buzz. Thankfully we can all avoid that anxiety and instead celebrate this new project, because The Host is none other than Barry Lynn, also know for his Boxcutter alias /5(47).

The Host-- a fresh alias and a fresh start for Irish producer Barry Lynn, who's best known for his dubstep-inclined work as Boxcutter-- arrived with a slight whiff of the mysterious: upon announcing the act's signing, Planet Mu Records initially kept mum about Lynn's involvement; there's also the vaguely ominous tone of the name and the album's post-apocalyptic/sci-fi artwork.7/

Planet Mu’s latest signing The Host is the new pseudonym for Barry Lynn aka Boxcutter in which he delivers this self-titled album with a tumble of highly-modern elements that results in some kind of neo-bass hybrid. Where neon coloured elements converge, an amalgamation of drifting synths and unique drum patterns scorch the melodic sound scape.

The third time I listened to the album I thought it was probably one of the best albums I have in my collection (over CDs). This is a fantastic album with incredible songs all the way through and cant recommend it highly enough. LP has an amazing voice, great lyrics, and great variety on what I believe to be an all time classic/5(1).
